Construction of Angola Cables' new data centre at Praia do Futuro in Fortaleza is in full swing, according to Guilherme Vieira, commercial leader of TelCables Brasil, the Angolan company's brand in Brazil. The project is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026.
Vieira said that this data centre in the capital of Ceará will be the Angolan company's largest. "With this project, we will reach the fifth data centre [globally]. The total energy capacity of this data centre will be 25% greater than what we have today," said the TelCables representative.
Announced in March, Angola Cables intends to invest between US$40 million and US$50 million in the project and attract large Internet companies to the hub. The data centre is also expected to have significant energy consumption due to the demand for artificial intelligence.
