TelCables South Africa has upgraded its backbone network from 500 Gbps to 800 Gbps. These upgrades have been made to accommodate the rapidly growing data traffic volumes across its network and to provide more seamless connectivity and improved performance to meet the growing demand from business to better manage their SD-WAN, Cloud and data traffic requirements.
Head of Business Solutions at TelCables South Africa, Mahen Naidu said that the improvements to the network will give local internet service providers, content delivery networks as well as African and international operators increased flexibility, scalability, and capacity to better manage their individual needs and requirements in terms of IP connectivity and services.
The upgrades to the network will now give customers 100GE capabilities and will enable businesses to further expand their networks, increase their customer base and reconfigure traffic flows as and when required without disrupting network traffic - or incurring multiple cross-connect fees.
